NASCAR XBL 360 Online League Racing

Commisioners Corner(September 4th)

We are one race away from the chase. We have had an excellent season thus far. We have had alot of level headed guys and some very competitive guys and everyone has been able to bring something to the table.

Going into the chase our format will change. The top 12 will be racing against each other each week in order to find a solid champion. To be the best, your going to go up against the best.

Murdercityguns and KFilament are battling for the 12th and final position. Murdercity has been able to squeeze his way in the top 12 a couple of times this year and will need a good race sunday to solidify it.  Kfilament basically needs to go out and win his race in order to make the chase. By winning his event he ensure that he has a chance to get in based on points.

We have 10 weeks remaining in our season. Alot of discussion has been thrown about what will follow our season. I am in currently a diagnotic mode of how to improve this league going into the next season. Some things that i am currently looking at is institutuing a top 35 rule. Now to enable this, anyone who has run to this point would probably be locked in for the first 5 races of the year. I am planning an aggressive exspansion and will look to have a great showing for our league next season, to build upon what we have already for next year. Now I want to go on record and state that not all the teams are sure fire locks going into next season. Don't panic about this as what I'm currently working on would make this league the official place to be going into 2009 in trying to make it better and what might be best for the league.

I think the number 1 goal though is for everyone to take the time off during the busy holidays and such, rest up take a break for a while and then get back to work, ontrack in which teams struggled. It will be nice to just take a deep breath after 20+ weeks of racing. It is tough to make that commitment each and every week. The thoughts and plans i have would see a return to active series for the Nationwide and truck series. The Super series is something that really hasnt gotten off the ground, due to the amount of time it takes to settting things up. However, this could be a (Off-Season) series if we choose to do that.  I hope your excitement is a big as mine is! I am really looking forward to starting again in Febuary along with the Bud Shootout, and i hope all if not most of you decide to re-up with this league and continue to want to run here. I enjoy racing against all of you and you guys make this worth doing!

The paint shop allows us to do alot of neat things with paint schemes and create car that are not in the game, making things possible.

The ideal situation is that we get it so that we have cars racing their way into races next season, fighting for a spot in the top 35. I just think rooms of 12-14 each week and hard racing and hard work coming to fruition and making it so guys want to be here, fighting for spots and enjoying themselves each week.

With that comes more work and I would probably be expanding some roles and adding onto my current Staff. I think each series would have people in place and ideally im looking at have a 3 man staff in the Cup Level, 2 Guys in Nationwide and 2 Guys in Trucks.  I want to have a solid staff, and be able to get prizes and such involved.

While this might get some rebuttle, and peple may be against it, I may and have been looking into charging a League Racing Entry fee. This fee would be an application fee of sorts, it would be $36.00 and would cover 1 full season of league racing on all levels. Drivers who enter later in the season will still pay the full amount, and would be covered for 36 racing weeks. This money would cover 1) End of the year awards and prizes for top 12 in the cup series, such as plaques, certificates, Microsoft Points and or Gift Cards or other forms of a prize. 2) Cover League maintence cost. 36 bucks is not much and breaks down into a .33.3 cents a race if you run all 3 series each week. or a buck a week for 36 weeks. This is preliminary yet, but i do think that guys who show up and race should have something to shoot for. A racing league is hard to come by for sponsorship purposes, so i look at if 40 guys sign up thats at least $1,000 in prizes im able to give away on the cup level. That's no knock on the guys who want a championship and earn spots in the top 12.

Imput and thoughts are welcome on the issue and again will be looked at and discussed further down the road. Like everything, their are pluses and minuses to it. I realize some will think its ok, while others hate it and might be disgusted by it. It's matter of opinion in which were all entitled to.

Good luck to the Top 12 in the Chase for the XBL Sprint Cup.
